Our friend Spencer over at Siliconera has been enjoying the Japanese version of Super Smash Brothers Brawl for the past few days, making us extremely jealous. While he's enjoying the game, he notes that there is something rather peculiar about the title: the save file is significantly larger than normal, taking up almost six percent of the Wii's total memory.
Out of a total of 2,163 memory blocks that make up the Wii's 512MB of memory, Super Smash Brothers Brawl consumes 128 blocks. Normal Wii game save files usually occupy one to two memory blocks, the Everybody's Nintendo channel occupies 80, the Opera Internet Browser occupies 228 blocks, and N64 games can go as high as 281 blocks. Are you starting to feel the squeeze yet?
