A Wi-Fi connected robot will automatically update its software if a new version is available when it's connected to your Wi-Fi network or the internet, and is on its Home Base. In some cases, it may take up to 24 hours to receive a software update. Actual installation of software once downloaded/received should take approximately 10 minutes.

If your robot is not receiving updates, please ensure:
- Your Home Base is located in an area with significant and constant Wi-Fi coverage.
- Your robot is connected to the internet. Go to More ➔ Settings ➔ Wi-Fi Settings ➔ Robot Wi-Fi Details. If the status is “Server Unreachable,” please check your firewall settings.
If the Home Base is placed in an area with marginal Wi-Fi coverage, you may want to consider moving its location to an area with better reception.
- Signal strength can be confirmed by looking at your mobile device's Wi-Fi signal icon in the area you wish to place your Home Base.
- Roomba 900 series owners can view a Wi-Fi signal strength map, by signing up for the Wi-Fi Coverage Betaprogram in the iRobot HOME App.
